Worthless Cordless……. Escort Passport Solo Radar Detector

, aka Cincinnati Microwave, has been producing a wireless Detector for sometime. The first wireless too was a called the . The unit used a 9 Volt battery and a Security Key to operate. The Original Detected only X and K band, and was good at it.

After took over Cincinnati Microwave, they produced the 4 and followed 5. These units featured X, K, and Ka detection. X and K were respectable, but Ka was highly limited.

Cobra ESD9220WX Cobra ESD 9220WX Radar Detector

I’d been eyeing this unit for a couple of months now but did not want to pay the $130 price tag. For some reason the price dropped $50, not sure why this unit dropped in price so much…I got it for $80. Unit seems to work pretty well. I upgraded from a ESD-6700 that gave 3 years of good use b/f giving in to the Texas heat. The display is a lot easier to read in the day and the voice seems more refined (more lady like, too bad I can’t record my wife”s voice into the unit. She’s use to telling me how to drive). The weather radio feature is nice, but there is a lot of static. The casing of the unit seems much more solid that past detectors I’ve owned and it is twice as heavy as the ESD-6700. Although I’m still yet to encounter a police car I can say that after driving around Houston I don’t get any falsing. My ESD-6700 performed flawlessly for over 3 years and saved me many times. This unit seems to behave the same as that one. Other than that so far so good…

Sensoro Traveller II Detector Sensoro Traveller II Radar Detector

First off, I would like to say that PNI Corp. was very helpful in giving me information to help me write an accurate review with correct information.

I have had the Traveller II for quite some time now and overall I am very impressed in not only its sleek design but also how well it performed. Among the few radar detectors that I have used this one is up there with the best of them.

Don’t Leave Home Without It! Whistler DE1790 SE Radar Detector

I love this detector!

First and foremost, this detector works like a dream. It lets me know when there are police in the area, before they see me. Just as important, it doesn’t seem to give false alerts, which is pretty important to me. I find the voice alerts to be attention getting, but not annoying at all. Really a great detector.

But wait, there’s more. It also has a digital compass and a voice recorder. I’m a map-guy, so I love the compass feature. I didn’t think I would use the memo function all that often, but I am surprised how often I record a “to do” list, phone number or address. It really comes in handy.

Recommended by Fast Driver… Blinder M20 XTreme Radar Detector

In my book Drive Fast, No Tickets (http://www.drivefastnotickets.com) I HIGHLY recommend the Blinder M20. In my case, it completely eliminated any laser related tickets. Period. Over two years and counting, and I have NEVER been surprised by a speed trap. Not once.

Recently, though, I have experienced a lot of false alarms; I suspect the unit has malfunctioned, blemishing an otherwise happy experience. I will probably have to replace it.

To properly use the M20, you need to understand what the ticket writer sees. First, in all 50 states, the laser operator must be within 1000 feet for any citation to be . That’s pretty close. And because of the nature of laser, they must be sitting still, pointing a very precise beam at a moving target: your car.

That means they often can’t get an accurate reading on you, and their gun will display an error message for the first few seconds. That is also what they see when your M20 is jamming the signal.

Usually within a second or two, a laser gun will trap an accurate speed, and you congratulations, you get a ticket. So the trick is to slow down quickly, then turn off your M20 and let Mountie measure a nice, law-abiding speed as you happily drive by.

I’ve done this more then 3 dozen times, and at least 15 times I have watched in my rear view as the car behind me gets pulled over.

The Blinder M20 is the single most important piece of equipment for the fast driver.

To learn what else you need, see my book at http://www.drivefastnotickets.com.
