Bel 904 Laser defense system Beltronics LaserPro 904 Radar Detector Love it, love it, love it! Lead-footed gadget geeks dream. When I heard about this anti-laser device coming out ...
Lidar guns are the most feared tool that it’s use by traffic law enforcement. Lidar guns unlike radar guns use a laser to clock your vehicle. This means that a detector won’t be able to pick it up until it’s too late. Whether you’re using a cheapo Radio Shack detector or the Valentine One, you’re already a gonner. I chose the Escort ZR-3 in my car, but I also considered the Bel Laserpro 904 which is identicle to the Escort except in the station that’s placed inside the car. Beltronics definitely has a great reputation in the radar detector market, and the Bel Laserpro 904 is no exception to their standard of quality.
-Price-
*The greatest thing about the Bel Laserpro 904 is the price. While the Escort ZR-3 can be purchased just around $399 ($289.99 off of eBay SOMETIMES), the Bel Laserpro 904 sells on the internet for around $230 on average. It’s a smaller price to pay than the Escort model, and it also has three laser transceivers just like the Escort. The main difference is in the unit that goes inside the cockpit, I personally like the Escort ZR-3’s better. Regarding price, the Bel Laserpro 904 kills out Blinder with the M-10 Twin, K40 with the 5500 Defuser Plus, and Lidatek. The Blinder offers only frontal protection and has no interface, and so does the K40. K40’s Defuser Plus also goes for $299 which is more than the Bel. Lidatek’s Laser Echo is also only frontal protection. Also, these alternatives prove to be more costly for most part. Escort/Beltronics are also leaders in the anti-traffic enforcement industry, so then again you do know you’re getting a quality product.
-What You Get-
*The Bel Laserpro 904 comes with an interface module that goes in the cockpit, dual-frontal transponders, and a rear transponder. Most people are jammed from the front, but there is rear-protection in case a rare event ever comes up. You can never be all too careful.
-Performance-
*I was in a rice burner (Honda Civic), which had an excellent array of protection against cops. It had a Valentine One on the windsheild, frontal anti-photo/lidar plate deflector, and hidden inside it was the Bel Laserpro 904. These modified cars seem to make favorable targets for cops since they are fast, and laser guns make it all much scarier. However, as we took this baby out on the interstate (I-294) a few times, there were laser attacks. It seems that the Illinois State Troopers do like lidar, but then they face their worst enemies… Laser jammers. The car usually finds itself at speeds from 80-90mph and we did receive a few laser alerts on different occassions. The interface is easy to follow, it gives a very nice lights display and lets you know that these LEDs are firing up against the lidar gun. This definitely would’ve called for a ticket if the car was clocked, but the cops stood in place. It’s impossible to say whether the Bel Laserpro 904 definitely did its job, but these were speeds at which any other car would’ve been pulled over. So from this, it can be concluded that the Bel Laserpro 904 is a very effective device.
-The Verdict-
*The Bel Laserpro 904 proves itself to be a very formidable laser jammer… If not the best, regarding its price. Sure you maybe thinking that ~$200 is a lot to spend, but a laser ticket will take a larger bite out of your wallet. Also, the Bel Laserpro 904 seems to out-do the competition by providing an interface which will notify you of errors during start-up, and other neccessary things. If you’re serious about jamming the deadliest threat, then leave it to the Bel Laserpro 904.
