Today, Cobra makes some of the most popular radar detectors on the market. I wonder, how do they do it? Well, these line of Cobras have a very nice curvy style, very sexy… Indeed. The Cobra ESD-9210CS is the base model, and retails with a $125 MSRP. However, it can be bought well below $100 on the internet. It’s different than the ESD-9110CS because it incorporates voice alerts, but other than that, it’s no different. It looks better than many cheaper detectors on the market such as Uniden, and even better than many more expensive models than the Bel Express series.

-Price-

*When shopping online, the Cobra ESD-9210CS comes in around at a slightly higher price to its 9110 counterpart. It’s just under $100 on average. However, as with the other Cobra detectors, the Cobra ESD-9210CS performs horribly. The voice alerts offered on this model really don’t make up for anything. Sure it looks better than the cheaper Uniden detectors you’d find, but you can do much better for even less than what the Cobra ESD-9210CS costs! You can purchase a Bel Express model which offers substantially better performance over the Cobra ESD-9210CS. Sure the Cobra ESD-9210CS is a cool looking detector and it has voice alerts, but the performance is very lacking, and that’s what a detector is supposed to do!

-Performance-

*I have previously used the Cobra ESD-9110CS, and it performed horribly. The Cobra ESD-9210CS was almost the same exact thing except that it had voice alerts. These detectors are definitely very popular, and it’s still so funny to see people getting pulled over with these on their windsheilds. I took the Cobra ESD-9210CS out against my Valentine One in my typical K and Ka band areas. The Cobra ESD-9210CS offered fairly ok K-band performance, barely enough time at all for a lead-footed driver to slow down. Again, the Ka-band performance was simpyl unacceptable. On a straight road, the Cobra ESD-9210CS picked it up literally right in the cop’s sight. A Bel Express would perform significantly better than this Cobra. If you instead like to mesmerize some nice sleek looks, then maybe you can buy this… But if you’re buying a detector for its true purpose of evading cops, then the Cobra ESD-9210CS is just a dissapointment.

-Ease Of Use And Features-

*The Cobra ESD-9210CS is again a fairly simple to use these Cobra radar detectors. It’s just like the ESD-9110CS, but the Cobra ESD-9210CS does have voice alerts, which can come into handy if you’re not a fan of only hearing tones. The Cobra ESD-9210CS also has SWS which comes into handy for some people. Also, it detects laser, wow, so does every other detector on the market practically. The Cobra ESD-9210CS does have a fairly easy to read screen, which I must give Cobra credit for.

-The Verdict-

*The Cobra ESD-9210CS is another poor excuse for a radar detector. A company goes ahead and makes a really nice looking product with absolutely horrid performance. I’m sure that this thing would attract many teenage buyers, and its voice alerts seem appealing too. Go into a high school and look at the student’s detectors, they all mostly have Cobras. So do very many people on the market. Don’t be fooled though, you can do much better with a Bel Express radar detector, or if you really wanna stay safe, go with a more expensive radar detector.
