I bought this radar detector about 6 months ago and I must say that the battery operated feature isnt all that it is cut out to be. I find that the unit loses power rather quick and I dont think the range is nearly as good as my other BEL wired unit. Unless you have a car that does not have a cigarette lighter, I would suggest going with a BEL corded model. I think that they are onto something with the cordless model but it hasnt been perfected quite yet. But dont get me wrong, I still trust BEL with my driver’s license.
