I bought the V955 first in preparation for my long trip from washinton State to Nevada. Test drove the V955 for over 200 miles. It was terrible, saw the cops first before it went off. I returned it and got the upgraded one V995. This detector is the much worse than the V955. I got a speeding ticket on I-5. It went off when it was approx. 700 feet from the trooper. I have a GPS device that’s why I knew exactly what the distance was. Got a 163 dollars citation. I still used it the rest of my trip. 1300 miles from Wa to NV. Passed so many troopers and did exactly the same thing, not enough warning to slow down. i changed the settings thinking, it was the problem. But to no avail. This device will go off with with everything except with the state troopers, or it won’t give you enough time to slow down. Power lines, oncoming big trucks and possibly radar detectors from other cars, it went off like crazy. i almost threw it out of the window. the only thing that kept me from doing that was the price i paid. 300 dollars and i will return it. I will never, never buy beltronics. With the experienced from the v955 and V995, it was bad. i purchased this device based on the ratings. I am not sure if i got the badf apples, but one thing i am 100% sure. i will never recommend this product at all
