I bought this detector a year ago. I used it on 3 vihicles. First on an ‘88 Ford Taurus. It looks good on the Taurus. You can windshield mount it at the base, and leave it there. No matter on which road you drive, it won’t fall off. Once I remember I was speeding 65 in a 35 mph zone, that was on Collins AVE, near 163rd street. I didn’t had the detector, so I got a 250 buck ticket. Ever sence that accedent, I used the detector every time I drive.

Unfortunatly I got hit by a truck which ran a red light, so my Taurus is no longer alive. I drove my mother’s car for a month to college, while we searched for another car to buy. You can really windshiled mount this radar detector on a ‘93 Buick LaSabre Limited. I don’t know why, but it always falls off. Perhaps it has to do something with a coiled power cord. You can mount it on visor either, because of Buick’s inconvinient visors.

Now I drive a ‘95 Ford Crown Victoria Police. You can’t mount the detector on windshield either, but you can mount it on the visor.

By the way, the Safety Warning System does not works in Miami either.

There are few good fuatures Wistler can add to this detector. For example they can add some memory fuatures, so that you don’t have to reset the VG-2 ON and HIGHWAY to CITY, and AUTO QUIET each time you start the car.

Overall, this is a good detector. Make sure you buy it for what it’s worth, not for an outrageous price I payed. Also, buy a hardwire cord and a visor mounting holder when you buy this detector.
