Sensoro Traveller II Detector Sensoro Traveller II Radar Detector

First off, I would like to say that PNI Corp. was very helpful in giving me information to help me write an accurate review with correct information.

I have had the Traveller II for quite some time now and overall I am very impressed in not only its sleek design but also how well it performed. Among the few radar detectors that I have used this one is up there with the best of them.

Escort Solo S2 The King of Cordless Detectors Escort Solo S2 Radar Detector

I have previously written a review on the S2 and it got moved to a different category, plus I was less experienced then so found my review to be very unsatisfactory. Times have changed, and I’ve decided to try this incredibly popular and expensive radar detector again. The S2 is the most recent newcomer in the cordless market from . They claim that it’s much better than the . Well, here’s what I found.

Save your money… Sensoro Traveller Radar Detector

Save your money…in my opinion the PNI Traveller is worthless. I purchased my Traveller from Amazon in October and the first thing I noticed was that the low-battery alarm went off after only a couple hours of use. Using my superior analytical skills, I concluded that the batteries shipped with the unit were probably old. I replaced the batteries at least three times with the same result.

Give Yourself a Driving Cushion With The Whistler 1733 Whistler DE1733 Radar Detector

Happen to have a lead foot?

I always laughed at radar detectors and the people that had them. I would say, “I don’t need one.” Even though I’ve gotten some pretty shaky tickets (let’s see, speeding on a Vermont road in a blizzard comes to mind), I never had the desire to pick up a detector. But times change (and so do attitudes I guess), especially now that I live in Massachusetts, the land where tickets are used to fill budget gaps. Plus it turns out, that I didn’t have to pay for it – so that made my 1733 even better.

Rocky Mountain RMRC450 Absolutely Positively Perfect?! Rocky Mountain Range RMRC450 Radar Detector

If you read up on the RMR-C450, the radar detector looks absolutely amazing on paper. It seems to do just about everything you can expect a top-end radar detector to do, or at least what claims it to be. Then you’ve got ’s scrambler system integrated into this system (Which sets it apart from the RMR-D550) and boosts the MSRP up by $50 compared to the cheaper RMR-D550. The scrambler is supposed to jam X, K, Ka, and laser bands. Wow! The RMR-C450 seems to be absolutely perfect! But when I witnessed one in action in a 1995 Camaro Z28, how did it stack up in the real world?

PNI’s unique and patented technology brings unparalled detection sensitivity in an incredibly low-power package, giving you cordless convenience without sacrificing an ounce of performance. The Cordless Traveller was developed from the ground up to be a superior radar detector. The bi-laminar antenna (patent pending) is constructed of two sheets of copper, which dramatically intensify the incoming signal. Other manufacturers use only one detector made of cast aluminum. Your benefit is an increased signal to noise ratio. That means you’ll recognize speed traps sooner.

The best $25 detector you can buy…. Cobra ESD 6060 Radar Detector

I purchased my 6060 for $25 new, to be used as a back-up. At the time of purchase, the detector I normally used was a 1010, itself a decent, if not stellar performer. I did do a side-by-side comparison test between these two, and found that although the 6060 took a bit more time to detect Ka (my only concern where I drive), it was never more than approx. 1 to 2 seconds slower than the 1010. I found the 6060 to be very easy to use, and had adequate sound level and display brightness. Falsing seemed to be similar to the 1010 as well, which is to say mediocre.
