This radar detector is one of the best investments I have ever made. I decided to buy one since I usually like to live in the fast lane. With the push of a button, you are in business.

It has plenty of great features. It detects K-, Ka-, X-, and Laser Bands. It is a fact that the X-band will false around buildings with automatic doors and such. This is a real problem in the city. This is why the City Mode is such an important option. Also, if you do not want to freak out every time this goes off, try to remember where the detector goes off, meaning it goes off at the same spot every time you pass it. Remember to turn off City mode when going on a road trip. It will work a lot better if you do so. The volume control is great since it is push button.

This radar detector is the only one that I have seen cordless. It looks better that way than seeing a cord going down to the cigarette lighter. As for power, it only takes 2 AA batteries. I recommend using a battery like Duracell ULTRA rather than using a cheaper brand. I would also like to mention that there is a plug if you want to use a plug to go into your cigarette lighter outlet. recommends buying an adapter from them instead of buying a universal adapter. The battery indicator is a good feature, but it can sometimes be tricky. Sometimes, it will have a good reading when turning it on, but later (20 minutes, for example), it will have a low reading (or vice versa). I usually take the batteries out and use the battery tester on the battery. If you do it this way, when you put the batteries back in, you will have to redo your presets (ex: city mode/highway mode).

Despite its minor flaws, this radar detector has been very reliable. If you want a good radar detector and have around two hundred dollars to spend, please consider this model. You might thank yourself later on.
